A case of Nevus Unilateralis Comedonicus

Abstract
A case of Nevus unilateralis comedonicus in 20 year old male is reported. The patient has bizarre band like lesio:is involving the right side trunk and right upper extremity. The lesions have been presenting since birth which consist of closely set, slightly depressed comedo like lesions and irregular shaped keloidal scars.
Upon the trunk, two band like lesions are observed and, arranged in transverse or curved as if along the dermatome distributions of the right side 5th¢¥ and 10th : intercostal nerves. Upon the right upper extremity, the course of the band like lesion was arrenged in longitudinal, arising from the anterior axillary fold, running down through the inner aspect of the arm, forearm and palm, ending to the second metacarpophalangeal joint.
These lesions remained entirely asymptomatic except for repeated infections and abscess formation over the years with residual scaring.
Histopathology;
Several varying sized and irregular shaped wide and deep invagination of the epidermis and epithelial islands in the mid and lower dermis.
Although these invagination and epithelial islands closely resemble hair follicles, they do not contain hair shaft but are filled with laminated keratin material. The sweat glands are well preserved.
Each of the comedo like lesions were destroyed by electrodesiccation and healed with slightly depressed pitted scars.
